Vermont clobbers Maryland-Baltimore County 80-49 BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) Matt Glass scored 18 points to lead Vermont's 80-49 rout of Maryland-Baltimore County on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams. Four McGlynn added 16 points, Pat Bergmann 12 and Brian Voelkel 10 rebounds for the Catamounts (20-11, 13-3 America East Conference). Vermont finishes in at least second place in the conference, and can clinch the league crown with a Stony Brook loss on Sunday. The Catamounts looked like a championship-caliber team in this one, turning a one-point lead with just over 11 minutes left before halftime into a 14-point advantage thanks to a 13-0 run. They led by nine at the break and outscored the Retrievers 44-22 in the second half to seal it. Vermont finished the season winning 11 of 12, it's only loss during that stretch coming to then-winless Binghamton. Brian Neller had 15 points to lead UMBC (4-25, 3-13), and Ryan Cook added 12.
