West's 3 TDs leads Towson past Colgate 42-17

TOWSON, Md. (AP) Terrance West rushed for three touchdowns and Towson beat Colgate for the first time ever in a 42-17 rout on Saturday night.

Towson (3-0) defeated Colgate for the first time in 10 tries. The Tigers also opened the season with three straight wins for the first time since 2006.

Towson never trailed after a 2-yard touchdown run by West, who finished with 85 yards on the ground on 13 carries. He also had rushing scores of 2 and 22 yards.

Dominique Booker added 71 yards rushing on six attempts, scoring on a 43-yard run to give the Tigers a 28-3 lead in the third quarter. Grant Enders led Towson's passing attack, completing 10 of 15 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown.

Zauhn Lewis rushed for 144 yards on 34 tries and had one touchdown for the Raiders (1-3). Gavin McCarney threw for 113 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
