SEATTLE (AP) Cristian Roldan scored twice within two minutes in the second half and newly acquired Kelvin Leerdam scored his first MLS goal, leading the Seattle Sounders past the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0 on Sunday night.
All three goals came in a span of 11 minutes for the Sounders, who won their second straight, are on a four-game unbeaten streak and have moved into a share of fourth spot in the Western Conference. Portland held off Vancouver 2-1 earlier Sunday to end a six game winless streak and is equal with the Sounders on 30 points.
A Roldan header put Seattle on the board in the 54th minute. A long throw-in by Leerdam about 20 yards out was headed across the area by Gustav Svensson.
