Analysis: Martinez was diagnosed with a sprain of the Lisfranc ligament and will wear a cast for seven to 10 days before being re-evaluated. Manager Brad Ausmus was surprised by how long Martinez would be out but put a positive spin on it, saying, "When you think about it, it's three to four weeks from today and 10 days of that are while we're still in spring training. So if it goes four weeks, that's only 2 1/2, three weeks of missed time in season."
